Snowbound

The girls were thrilled - 

and couldn’t wait to go outside -

when we woke to a dusting of snow

that got deeper and deeper as the day wore on.

By mid afternoon, 

we had howling winds and steady snow flurries

that dropped more than 5” on nearby Mammoth Mountain.

We alternated warming up inside

and admiring the view,

with snowball fights,

picking icicles,

and all the other fun stuff you do 

on a snowy vacation. 

Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and 30-ish,

so we may try sledding or do a bit of sightseeing. 

Or stay indoors like we had good sense. (We’ll be going somewhere!)
