Panama Canal, Part 3
Almost done! The transit from Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean took almost 12 hours, with this last set of locks accounting for 4+ hours of that total.
Last set of locks
Our Canal mate. Note the height difference between the ship and the forward gate. Gonna take awhile to raise the boat up that much!
More mules, pulling QE to the next lock. Did I mention I love watching the mules??
Close up of the cables attached to QE
Lighthouse in the rainforest
There’s another canal behind the lighthouse that looks like a holding/off-loading area
Our escort as we clear the last lock
Off-loading the pilot and heading for the last bridge
Centennial Bridge
It’s huge but we didn’t see very many vehicles using it
Bye bye, Panama. Next stop, Aruba!
