Travel Day

We left home at 0230 this morning - yuck - and arrived in Quebec, Canada in time for a fashionably late dinner.

 Fall colors

The flight from LAX to Toronto was 2/3’s empty, so we had a whole row all to ourselves. That makes a 4+ hour flight soooo much more bearable enjoyable. A brief layover in Toronto, with one of the best organized Customs procedures we’ve ever seen, and we were in the air again, on a short, very crowded flight to Quebec.

Our hotel is a renovated mansion, built in 1826, and filled with antiques.

The downside?

Steep, narrow steps to the front door and no ‘lift’ to rooms on the second third(!) floor, where Bill and Carolyn will be staying. Fortunately, our room is just inside the front door so poor hubby "only" had to carry our four heavy suitcases up from the sidewalk.

Three blocks from our hotel is a local restaurant row,

where we had our choice

 Window seats at l’Omlette

of over a dozen intimate establishments.

Then a short stroll toward the city walls before returning to our home away from home.

Not sure what that pink-lit building is, but it’s pretty!

The plan for tomorrow is a tour of Quebec on the hop-on, hop-off bus. Can’t wait!
