Phantom

We took Leia and Naia to see Phantom of the Opera Monday night. 

I remember seeing Phantom when it first came out, with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the starring roles. Such incredible voices, so much passion! 

Nothing could live up to that memory, but the cast at the Pantages was good (despite sound issues that weren’t resolved until after intermission - or “halftime” as Leia calls it.)

The girls enjoyed the music and the staging -

lots of pyrotechnics (appropriate for this holiday week) - 

and Naia actually screamed when the chandelier dropped. 

This will be our last show with Naia for awhile. She leaves mid-August for college in Texas, after receiving her Associates degree in May, almost a month before getting her high school diploma and passing her CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) test one day later. So proud of her!
