Mini Vacay
One of my bucket list goals was to vacation in a house on the beach, preferably during a storm. (A BIG storm, with lightning and thunder, and giant waves crashing below the house. If you’re going to dream, dream *big*, right?? 😂)
Not sure we’ll get a storm -
this is drought stricken California, after all -
but we’ve got the house in Cambria
Low tide
and the beach,
“Our” stairs to the beach
all ours for five nights,
Rocking chairs by the fire pit
our Christmas gift to each other.
Living room
The house is a one bedroom, two bath,
split level,
Family room above, bedroom below
that (judging by the kitchen and bath tiles) we think was built in the ‘80’s.
There are two decks -
the main one off the bedroom with rocking chairs, fire pit and spa,
Family room
and the second (which we have yet to explore) off the upstairs family room.
There’s even a ridiculously cute chaise lounge, that Jac would adore.
So far, it appears that the house is heated only by thermostat-controlled gas fireplaces (!!), with one on each level.
Evening temps are supposed to be in the 40’s, so it may be a very good thing we brought extra quilts with us.
Not sure what we’ll do tomorrow -
our first choice, Hearst Castle, is still closed due to damage to the access road -
but tonight we sat and watched the sunset. Perfect.
