Estes Park
Saturday's fun thing was a trip to Estes Park, one of my all-time favorite places.
It's a beautiful location, surrounded by mountains, with rivers flowing around and about through town, and lots of kid-friendly places to get your hands
and feet wet.
There are plenty of things to do, from enjoying the playground -
Addy and Leia's favorite thing,
especially when our bestest Auntie Rachel is involved,
to climbing on rocks as 'queen of the world' -
and checking out the local wildlife, statue edition.
Walking around town was taxing for Leia's little legs, so she looked for every opportunity to bum a lift. Needless to say, she was still going strong at the end of the day while the rest of us were pooped.
The hands-down best thing we saw was a blown glass demonstration with a great, informative narration by the artist. Fantastic, beautiful stuff. The very close, next best thing?
This enormous metal chicken we spotted on the outskirts of Loveland that Rachel and I both love and I WANT for my yard. We're going back tomorrow to see if they have a slightly smaller version.
Hubby's getting that panicked look on his face again.....
