Bindarama
While the boys took Donovan to his first car museum,
I spent the day putting bindings and labels on a bunch of quiltsusing my second favorite ‘sew it to the front, flip and glue it to the back, then stitch in the ditch all the way around’ method. It’s not as pretty as hand stitching it to the back but it is fast!Four down, six to go. I was hoping to get the gift quilts out by Thanksgiving but they *might* go out this week instead.Posted by Elisa at11:53 PM 0 comments

Bats R Us
Batman, Batgirl, a game character and a typical teenager - we are ready for Halloween!
Jac and Donovan had a lot of fun showing off their super hero moves.Posted by Elisa at11:20 PM 0 comments

Galaxy Quilt
The last of the grandnephew quilts is finished and headed to the long-armer tomorrow.
Jac’s reaction? “Where’s Pluto??” (Also Jac: “Alexa, is Pluto a planet?”) (Alexa says it’s a dwarf planet. Which led to more discussion and questions for Alexa. I love how curious Jac is and that she’s learning how to find answers for herself.)
I don’t usually make fancy quilt backings but I wanted something special for this one. Dragons, anyone?

One Day Quilt
Decided last night that I couldn’t send quilts to Jama’s grandkids without sending something to their moms too.

Catching Up
Donovan drew a picture of us while we waited in the car for Jac to get out of school.
I love that we are holding hands and that my shirt has flying pigs (as my real shirt did that day.)The tie-dye shirts were a huge hit. Pop forgot the shirts in the car when he picked up the girls for school - and Leo made him go back and get them! 😂😂I wish the colors were more saturated but it’s not bad for a rush project.Posted by Elisa at11:02 PM 0 comments

Bubble Buddies
I found a partial box of bubbles in the craft room,
and Donovan and Jac have been in heaven the past two days. They do like having bubble battles by bubble buddies. (Sorry… 😜)And grandma loves having a great excuse to take photos.Posted by Elisa at9:35 PM 0 comments

Dye For Orange
The littles are supposed to wear orange to school tomorrow
and rather than dig through laundry when they go home -
or make a run to Target -we decided to tie dye shirts we already had. (We had the dyes too!)Jac and Donovan got to pick two colors each - both choose (a different) blue to go with their orange - while Leo batted her eyes and looked sad until I let her pick three colors. 😂A bit of a soak,
a trip through the laundry (with a vinegar rinse)
and Presto!
Change-o!
we have awesome shirts for tomorrow.
Donovan took his shirts home to wash - hope he’s happy with how they turn out. We’ll find out tomorrow….
Wonder how long it’ll take the dye to wear off this time???
